WotW is a very excting read, especially for those living in and around Woking where it is set. It is a great tale from the master of science fiction and one can't but help to dragged into the excitment. Its one of those books that you are incapable of putting down, you've just got to know what happens next. And don't be put off if you've seen the film, the book is very different and far superior as would be expected.

I saw the original film, in the early seventies, Then I purchased the original Jeff Wayne live performance, from there I bought the dvd of the 2nd Jeff Wayne tour. Then came the remake of the film, followed this year by a new Jeff Wayne live tour. In short If I had bought the book first (in the 70's) every thing that I had previously seen and heard would have been spoiled. This book is amazing, it shows what a brilliant imagination the author had. There is just no comparison to to any other subject matter. Amazing, a must for everyone.
